Music at King Charles 2008

Throughout 2008, King Charles hosts an ambitious series of chamber music concerts. More details will be posted here shortly.  Highlights of the series include the opportunity to hear BBC Young Musician of the year winner, ‘cellist Guy Johnston in recital, or to hear the renowned clarinettist David Campbell playing the Mozart quintet.  More information about many of these artists is available here.

Programme includes quartets by Bartok, Mozart and Haydn.

Sunday November 4th: 7.30pm. King Charles Singers
French sacred choral and organ music
Duruflé: Mass Cum Jubilo, and Fauré: Messe Basse

Saturday, 29th September 2007: Konevets Male Voice Quartet
Return of the Konevets Male Voice Quartet, at the invitation of TWIYCA (Tunbridge Wells International Young Concert Artists Competition) in a fund-raising concert in the run-up to the next competition in July 2008.

Saturday July 21st: 7.30pm. Aiso Quartet
Mozart - Dissonance Quartet
Debussy - String Quartet}
Beethoven - Harp Quartet

Sunday June 10th: 6.30pm. Haydn's Nelson Mass in service of Holy Communion, with the Aiso Quartet and members of the King Charles Singers
(Church service - no admission charge)

March 18th 2007, 7.00pm: Handel Messiah (extracts); Caldara Stabat Mater
Performed by The Mead School Choir directed by Sarah Stuart-Pennink, with members of King Charles parish choir, the King Charles Singers, and a Baroque instrumental ensemble led by Teresa Caudle

February 17th, 7.30pm: Piano recital by Anthony Zerpa-Falcon
In aid of Cancer Research. Music by Albeniz, Mozart, Liszt and Chopin.

February 24th, 7.30pm: "From Tallis to Tavener"
Choral music from the Renaissance to the present day, given by chamber choir Terpsichore. Tickets available on the door.

March 3rd, 7.30pm: Concert in aid of Tunbridge Wells Homeopathic Hospital

Amanda Pitt (soprano) and David Owen Norris (piano): an evening of songs and piano music from the Romantic period

June 17th 2006, 7.30pm: From Madrigal to McCartney
A riotous evening with Cantabile, the London Quartet

June 25th 2006, 7.30pm: Handel festival concert
Directed by Richard Egarr, Director of the Academy of Ancient Music
