Families at King Charles

Youth GroupIn recent years, the King Charles Youth Group has flourished, and a wide range of activities have been provided for children in the congregation of secondary school age, on an occasional basis. One feature has been a link with a VSO volunteer, through which we raised money for that organisation. Junior ChurchOn Sundays when there is no specific family worship taking place, Junior Church is held in the church hall. We all share the first part of the service in Church and the children leave after about ten minutes to pursue a variety of activities. All children of three and over are welcome. Parents are invited to stay with nervous newcomers! An informal crèche is also available in the Vestry during the Parish Communion service each Sunday morning. Some toys are kept here, and the service is relayed on the audio system. Junior ChoirKing Charles' Parish Choir welcomes children as members, and there is also a Junior Choir which meets once or twice a month and contributes to special services. This is an opportunity for children to learn something about the Anglican
musical tradition and to have some fun along the way. We make use of music
and tuition resources from the RSCM. New
members are always welcome! Crèche facilities in the churchThe vestry (behind the door by the font) is made available for any restless young children during the 10am Parish Communion services. Helpers will be on hand if parents wish to leave children and return to the service. Full details of all services are here. |

We had great fun
planting runner beans, sunflowers, sweat corn, and courgettes. Then
everybody sat down to a tasty snack courtesy of Ed’s rather creative
barbecue!
