At King Charles the Martyr, our Choral Evensong services offer an opportunity to enjoy the richness of the Anglican choral tradition within our historic church.

What Is Choral Evensong?
An opportunity to pause, listen and reflect.
Choral Evensong is a traditional evening service in which much of the worship is sung by a choir.
The service includes sung responses, canticles, a chanted psalm and an anthem. These are woven together with readings and prayers.
We normally use the Book of Common Prayer, with its poetic and traditional language.
The combination of words and music creates a distinctive atmosphere of peace, reflection and spiritual beauty.
No. You are welcome to attend whether or not you are familiar with Anglican worship. You can simply listen, follow the prayers and enjoy the music.
Absolutely. Choral Evensong welcomes regular worshippers, visitors and anyone interested in experiencing the beauty of traditional church music.
We also occasionally hold evening services of High Mass on certain feast days. Please consult the weekly bulletin for details.

Join Us for Choral Evensong
Experience the beauty of traditional Anglican worship at King Charles the Martyr in Royal Tunbridge Wells. Services are normally held at 6:30pm on the second Sunday of each month, usually also on fifth Sundays.
